It was organized in cooperation with ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute), and with the presentations from EIFER, ESRI, City Karlsruhe and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Around 30 participants from different departments and institutes from City Karlsruhe, KIT, Hochschule Karlsruhe and EIFER took part. The morning session was dedicated to scientific talks and the afternoon session to deep dive into the technologies (see workshop agenda).
A real-time interactive survey with the participants also revealed the most important elements (citizens, data, platforms), sectors (infrastructure, energy), and factors (open data, citizen participation) of Smart City related research.
